We’re Proud to be Part of the National LGBTQ+ Ally Schools.

Our partnership agreement with this network of schools solidifies our commitment to working together to support our students, families, teachers, and staff.

National LGBTQ+ Ally Schools Partnership Agreement

Whereas, Harvey Milk High School of New York City: The Alliance School of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Magic City Acceptance Academy of Homewood, Alabama; Albert Einstein Academy of Ohio, and PROUD Academy, Inc., of New Haven, Connecticut, have formed a partnership on this day November 1, 2022,

Whereas, recognizing by standing together in solidarity dedicated to best serving, not only our LGBTQ+ students and their allies in our respective schools, but also supporting our teachers and staff, and our families, along with each other,

Whereas, that support includes, but is not limited to, recognizing we are more than a school, we are a movement,’ therefore we benefit by networking, offering guidance for new schools opening and those already established, suggesting protocols when facing a hostile political climate, and forming collective partnerships with national LGBTQ+ organizations,

Whereas, empowering our collective students to develop a resource guide for our LGBTQ+ families and students to best navigate safe and affirming states, and within those states, safe and affirming schools, (possibly) titled “The Rainbow Book,” a guide to our “nations” safe and affirming states and schools in the USA for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies, will guide families to best make decisions for their children, our students, to not only survive, but thrive.

Whereas, this partnership is not legally binding, it is one we collectively agreed upon in the spirit of collaboration, expedited by the increasing political discourse in our United States of America, whereas, liberty and justice for all should be a right, not something for which to aspire.
